This stylish 4 star hotel is situated on the main riverside promenade and only a stone's throw from the centre of the town. This imposing historic hotel is located in 25 acres of tranquil gardens and woodland, a short drive from the border town of Peebles. Inside the historic façade, this hotel has all the facilities of a modern hotel. It has full leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and mini-gym. Day One: After a pick-up from home you join our luxury touring coach and head for Dover for the short sea crossing over to Calais. Passing through Belgium and Luxembourg you arrive in Saarbrucken, Germany for your overnight stop at the Mercure Hotel Sud.
Day Two: After breakfast you continue through France and into Alpine Switzerland. Skirting the towns of Basel and Zurich, you arrive at Davos Switzerland, your resort for the next 3 nights.
Day Three: Free day. Explore the local area of Davos today with your visitors' card that allows you to use the local transport free of charge.
Day Four: A full day excursion to Chur. The town looks back on 5000 years of settlement history which makes it Switzerland's oldest town. This lively small town has developed to become the cultural and economic centre of the Grisons, thanks to its excellent location on key transport routes through the Alps. Stroll through the Gothic old town dating from the 15th and 16th centuries and visit the 800 year-old cathedral.
Day Five: The highlight of your holiday is the spectacular Bernina Express train journey from Davos to Tirano, a 2 hour trip through the Engadine and loop tunnels, from Chur to Tirano. The train journey will take you over graceful viaducts, through galleries hewn into the sheer rock, through switch back tunnels, along rushing mountain streams, glaciers and even an alpine garden. Technical buffs will enjoy knowing that the train climbs up to the 2253 m high Bernina Pass without the help of a rack-and pinion mechanism. The entire trip is narrated. You then travel by coach to Lake Iseo to the Iseolago Hotel your base for the next 3 nights.
Day Six: At leisure in Iseo with an included boat excursion on the lake
Day Seven: An excursion to Sirmione on Lake Garda one of the oldest towns in the area. Sirmione is famous for its medieval centre at the end of the peninsular. It has a moated castle, lovely piazzas with plenty of cafes to relax and enjoy a cappuccino or ice cream. One of the most picturesque towns on the lake, it is enormously popular and not to be missed!
Day Eight: Today you leave Iseo and head back through Switzerland to Metz and the Novotel for your overnight stay.
Day Nine: After breakfast you head north to Calais for the short sea crossing to Dover arriving back on the island in the evening.

You then continue to Berwick-upon-Tweed, which has always been considered too north for England but too south for Scotland. The town is positioned on the north bank of the River Tweed and it is the River that has always been known as the border between the two countries, which led to the town changing hands nearly 14 times in the two centuries up to 1482. Since then, it has remained English.
An excursion to Alnwick Castle, considered one of the finest in the country. It is the second largest inhabited castle in England, the first being Windsor Castle and has been the home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland since 1309. It has magnificent, spacious grounds designed by Capability Brown, domineering medieval towers, a 14th century dungeon and beautiful staterooms with Italian Renaissance design. The castle is now famously known to many as ‘Hogwarts’ after its appearance in the series of Harry Potter films.
An excursion to Beamish Open Air Museum. Set in a picturesque valley, Beamish vividly recreateslife in the North of England in the early parts of both the 19 th and 20 th centuries. There are several craft workshops, antique and other specialty shops, restaurants and cafés.
A half day tour to Haworth Situated above the Worth Valley amid the bleak Pennine Moors, Haworth is internationally famous for its connection with the Bronte sisters. They were born in Thornton (near Bradford) but wrote most of their famous works while living at the Hawarth Parsonage (which is now a museum owned and maintained by the Bronte Society), while their father was parson at the adjacent Hawarth Church.

For 2010 we return to the conveniently located Hilton Hotel, London Paddington that offers a perfect base for visiting London with easy access to the West End and its major attractions. The hotel offers beautifully furnished rooms that are all en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, TV and air conditioning. There is a lift to all floors.
Day One:
After a pick up from home you join our luxury touring coach and head for Winchester, England’s ancient capital which is steeped in history, from legend and lore to awe-inspiring architecture. Here you will have time for sightseeing and lunch before continuing on to London arriving late afternoon.
Days Two & Three:
The next two days are at leisure for you to do as you please, take in the sights of our capital, visit the museums or maybe see a show. If it's shopping you want, you have the world famous Oxford Street, Bond Street and Regent Street otherwise known as shopper's paradise. The choice is yours.
Day Four:
The coach collects you from your hotel late morning for the journey to the Bluewater shopping mall at Greenhithe. You have all the major retail shops under one roof, perhaps do your Christmas shopping or just browse, with ample time for lunch before making your way back to the Island arriving late afternoon.

Mercure Atria Arras Hotel - 3 Star
This centrally situated hotel is an ideal position only a 10 minute walk from the Grand Place where the Arras Xmas market takes place. All rooms are en-suite with satellite TV, mini-bar, tea/coffee maker, trouser press, clock-radio and internet access. There is also a lift.
Arras Xmas market attracts over 60 exhibitors that offer a wide selection of arts and crafts, as well as local delicacies like chocolate rats, Atrébate beer and Coeurs d'Arras - heart-shaped biscuits which come in two flavours, ginger and cheese. Entertainment includes cooking lessons with chefs, craft demonstrations, a merry-go-round and of course meeting Father Christmas! Special guests from Poland will offer hand-made Christmas decorations, embroidery, lamps, candlesticks, amber jewellery, pottery, dolls, crystal, wooden items and delicious Polish gourmet produce. Heated shelters area also available! The capital of Artois, Arras is a very busy town and there is a lot to see in the centre with the Flemish style houses and shops. Central Arras looks so much the historic part and is so well restored, that it is hard to imagine the war damage from which it suffered.
Day One: After a pickup from home, you join our luxury touring coach and head eastwards towards Dover for the short sea crossing over to Calais. You then travel the short journey to Arras arriving in the afternoon.
Day Two to Day Three: A t leisure in Arras with one included excursion.
Day Four: After breakfast, you make your way northwards to Calais stopping at cite Europe for Christmas shopping and duty paid goods, before making your return crossing to Dover, arriving back on the Island in the evening.
Included Excursion:
To The Vimy Memorial . This memorial commemorates a major World War I battle, the Battle of Vimy Ridge. It was won by the Canadian army, the only victory the Allies would enjoy during their 1917 spring offensive. The Battle of Vimy Ridge was part of the broader Allied offensive in April known as the Battle of Arras.

Excursions to the city of Montreux on Lake Geneva, the Spa town of Evian les Bains and the beautiful small town of Gruyeres where you visit a cheese factory.
