The Actons Hotel - 3 Star
Located on the harbour front, the 3 star Actons Hotel offers lovely views across the
water and of the moored sailing boats. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from
the centre of Kinsale, where shops and bars are within easy reach. The hotel
restaurant, the Captain’s Table, provides fine food, and is a member of the Kinsale
Good Food Circle’. Actons is traditionally decorated to a thoroughly comfortable
standard, and the 73 bedrooms are all in keeping with this style and contain a
hairdryer and satellite TV, as well as tea/coffee making facilities. There is a large gym,
15m indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna and outdoor hot tub at the Health
& Fitness Club, located within the hotel’s grounds. There is a lift to all floors.

Day One: After a pick-up from home, you join our luxury touring coach and west into
Wales to the Best Western Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli for your overnight stop.
Day Two: After a leisurely breakfast you travel through the Pembrokeshire countryside to
Fishguard for the ferry crossing to Rosslare. You then travel the short journey to Waterford
and to the Treacys hotel for your second overnight stop, with use of the leisure facilities.
Day Three: After breakfast you head south to Youghal, site of the epic film Moby Dick, and
then onto Blarney. There is ample free time to explore the village at leisure and visit the
famous Blarney Castle, home of the mystical stone of eloquence, before taking the beautiful
scenic drive through County Kerry to Kinsale, your base for the next four nights.
The town nestles between the hills and the sea with a maze of narrow streets, traditional
bars, restaurants and beautiful buildings. You can visit the Charles Fort - one of the finest
examples of a star-shaped fort in the World, standing proudly at the mouth of the harbour
or take in the stunning scenery from the water on a relaxing harbour cruise.
Day Four to Day Six: At leisure with two included excursions.
Day Seven: After breakfast, you leave Kinsale and travel to Cobh, a colourful harbour
town with a rich maritime history and dominated by its majestic cathedral. We visit the
Queenstown Story (entrance included) where this highly imaginative visitor attraction tells
the story of emigration from Cobh in the period of the famine in 1845, up to the era of the
great Liners in the 1950s. Cobh was the last port of call for the ill-fated Titanic. We complete
the journey to your overnight accommodation in the Wexford area.
Day Eight: After an early breakfast you travel to Rosslare for the sailing back to Fishguard,
you then continue on your way to Southampton arriving back on the Island in the evening.

Included Excursions: A full day tour, first calling at the picturesque village of Rosscarbery,
with its beach and tidal lagoon, a haven for many species of birds. Continuing south west,
the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic and rugged before arriving in Baltimore, a
popular sailing centre, where it is possible to take lunch whilst overlooking the harbour. In
the afternoon, we travel west to the magnificent Bantry House and Gardens, with
wonderful views over the Bay.
A day tour of the spectacular and varied scenery of the West Cork coastline. We visit
Clonakilty, a town of tall spires and elegant squares. Once famous for the production of
linen, this market town is today renowned for its black pudding, music pubs and hand
painted Irish signs. We return to Kinsale via Innishannon a picturesque village of character
and charm, immortalised by Alice Taylor in her books.

The Winnock Hotel - 3 Star
At first sight on approaching the 3 Star Winnock Hotel, nestling around the
green in pretty Drymen village, one is strongly reminded of the magical
romance of ‘Brigadoon’. Sensitively extended and refurbished, whilst
retaining its traditional bars and log fires, the Winnock offers friendly
hospitality, very comfortable family-run accommodation. Its 74 bedrooms
have TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities and the hotel boasts a
high standard of cuisine. The hotel has also been awarded a green tourism
award. The hotel has no lift, but some ground floor rooms are available.

Day One: After a pick-up from home, you join our luxury touring coach and
head north to Lancaster, via the motorway network, with comfort stops
made en route. Your overnight stay is the 4 star Holiday Inn Hotel, Lancaster.
Day Two: After breakfast you continue north into Scotland passing Gretna
Green and Glasgow. Stopping for lunch and comfort stops en route, before
arriving at Drymen your base for the next five nights.
Day Three to Day Six: At leisure with three included excursions.
Day Seven: After breakfast you head south for your overnight stay at the
Holiday Inn hotel Lancaster.
Day Eight: An early breakfast today before your departure for the Island.
You head south, via the motorway network with comfort stops made en
route, arriving back on the Island in the evening.

Included Excursions: A full day tour of the Trossachs. Your first stop is
Aberfoyle set in the heart of this beautiful area. You continue through the
forest to Loch Katrine where you have an inclusive boat cruise aboard the Sir
Walter Scott Steamer. On leaving the Loch, the tour continues past Loch
Venachar to Callander, where you will have time at leisure in this lovely
Trossachs town, before continuing through the countryside to Drymen.
A full day tour of the lochs. After breakfast you travel up the spectacular
west side of Loch Lomond to Tarbet,where you embark on an inclusive cruise
on the loch. After the cruise you continue to Arrochar passing Loch Long and
Gare Loch, arriving at the southern end of Loch Lomond at the Alexandria
Visitor Centre with time for lunch. To finish your day, you visit the Glengoyne
Distillery, overlooking the waterfall and glen, where you can warm your
cockles with a dram of Glengoyne 10 year old Highland malt whisky. View
the unique film before being whisked off to discover the secrets of Scotland’s
slowest whisky distillation at this stunning wee gem of a place.
A day excursion first to the Falkirk Wheel experience, where you will have
an inclusive boat trip on the Union Canal, which includes a lift on the Falkirk
Wheel. You then continue to Scotland’s capital Edinburgh, where you will
have a guided tour of the city with a Blue Badge guide while aboard your
coach. You will then have free time in the city.

The Riverside Hotel - 3 Star
As the name suggests, this charming Lakeland hotel enjoys a fabulous
riverside location in the centre of Kendal making it an ideal base. The shops
and attractions within Kendal are merely a short walk across the bridge.
Each of the 47 en-suite bedrooms enjoys a great river view and all include
hairdryer and television. In addition, take some time out in the hotel’s indoor
leisure club, with its swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The
hotel has a lift to all floors and though this is accessed via some steps, there
is also a chair lift available if required.

Day One: After being picked up at home by taxi you join our luxury touring
coach and head northwards via the motorway network towards Cumbria.
Comfort stops will be made en route, arriving in Kendal late afternoon.
Day Two to Day Four: At leisure in the historic market town of Kendal,
with three included excursions. Famous for its mint cake, nestling in the
rolling foothills of the Lake District, Kendal is also a great shopping centre
with its mix of high street names, factory outlets, speciality shops, and
traditional markets.
Day Five: After breakfast you leave Cumbria and head southwards, via the
motorway network, arriving back on the Island early evening.

Included Excursions: A day excursion first travelling to Settle where you
join the famous Settle to Carlisle train, England’s most scenic railway. You
travel over 72 miles of track with 17 major viaducts spanning the ravines
and through 14 tunnels. You arrive at Carlisle where you will have ample
time for lunch and sightseeing before you rejoin your coach for the return
journey to Kendal.
A day tour first to Haverthwaite where you board the Lakeland Railway
steam train. This takes you through some of Cumbria’s finest scenery to
Lakeside where you board a steamer to cruise Lake Windermere. You will
have some free time in Bowness before re-boarding your coach. You then
visit Hawkshead of Beatrix Potter fame before returning to your hotel.
A half-day tour to Coniston. The little town of Coniston is known for its
associations with the author, artist and social reformer John Ruskin. Coniston
Water is where Donald Campbell broke the water speed record in 1955 but
also met his death during the speed trials of his boat Bluebird in January
1967.

The Escale Oceania Hotel – St Malo - 2 Star
This excellent quality 2 star hotel is situated directly on the seafront, within
a 10 minute stroll of the city walls. The hotel comprises of two buildings,
between these is an outdoor garden terrace for guests to relax during
summer months. The bar is located in the open plan reception area with
large windows and views onto the beach. The 88 bedrooms are modern and
comfortable with satellite TV and hairdryer. The hotel also offers Wi-Fi
internet access free of charge. Lift to all floors.

Day One: After a pick up from home, you join our luxury touring coach and
cross the Solent to Portsmouth where you board the Brittany ferry for the
crossing over to Caen arriving early afternoon. You continue your journey
through Normandy and into Brittany arriving at your hotel late afternoon.
Day Two to Day Four: At leisure in St Malo with three included excursions.
Known for centuries as the city of pirates, this fortified port remains an imposing
sight from outside its grey, granite walls. Inside, a maze of charming, narrow
streets are a joy to discover and are home to hospitable bars and cafés with a
seafaring theme, good quality shops and boutiques, and some excellent seafood
restaurants.
Day Five: After a leisurely morning in St Malo you make your way back to Caen
for the afternoon crossing back to Portsmouth. You then take the Wightlink ferry
across the Solent to Fishbourne arriving back on the Island just before midnight.

Included Excursions: A full day excursion to Dinard, which was popularized
by English visitors in the mid 19th century and soon became a fashionable bathing
resort, with impressive Victorian villas. A market is held here on Tuesdays. You
then continue to Rennes, the capital of Brittany and the focal point for preserving
the Breton language and culture, Rennes has some fine 18th century crooked
houses and a town square, once the site of medieval jousting tournaments.
A circular tour first to Mont St Michel, which rises majestically from the sands,
just off the coast of the Brittany/Normandy border and is the site of a splendid,
granite abbey with steep spires and flying buttresses. Mont-St-Michel was used
in the 6th and 7th centuries as a stronghold of Romano-British culture and power.
You then continue your tour around the Brittany coast to Cancale where you will
have time to see Brittany’s famous oyster beds.
A morning tour visiting Dinan, this fortified citadel town stands on a crag above
the river Rance. The picturesque town centre features well-preserved medieval
timber framed houses, cobbled streets and a 12th century Basilica.
