Buckingham Palace & The Royal Mews

A visit to the official residence of Her Majesty The Queen. The state rooms are used extensively by The Queen and members of the Royal Family to receive and entertain their guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions. While the Queen is away on her annual visit to Scotland, the Palace’s 19 state rooms are open to visitors. They are lavishly furnished with some of the finest treasures from the Royal Collection – paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens and Poussin; sculpture by Canova, exquisite examples of Sevres porcelain and some of the finest furniture in the world. Visitors can also enjoy a garden walk that offers superb views of the Garden, front of the Palace and the 19th century lake. You will also visit the Royal Mews for a further fascinating insight into the work of the Royal Household department that provides
road transport for The Queen and members of the Royal Family by both drawn carriage and motor car.

Dorset Steam Fair
Sunday 5th September
The Great Dorset Steam Fair is held annually at Tarrant Hinton near Blandford. Widely regarded as the leading event of its type in the country, it has the largest collection of steam engines and associated equipment. There are approx. 200 working steam engines, 100 fairground organs and around 2000 other working exhibits. Experiencing the Old Time Steam Funfair is for many, the highlight of the show or explore the many craft and market stalls.

Ross-on-Wye & River Cruise with Afternoon Tea

A visit to Ross-on-Wye, an historic market town with Tudor timbered houses overlooking the beautiful River Wye, with time for lunch and sightseeing before embarking on a River cruise from nearby Symonds Yat west. The river winds its way through the natural beauty of Symonds Yat gorge and village, dividing it into East and West. An entertaining commentary will inform and amuse while you enjoy a cream tea on board.

Brugge is a beautiful, dreamy, medieval city, famous for its cobbled squares, narrow streets, canals, gabled houses and gothic buildings and of course its chocolate, lace and beer! Wander the streets or take a trip on the canal to see this delightful city at its best. Please note that you will be dropped at a point that is approx. 10 minutes walk to the centre. It is also possible to catch the local bus. However, coaches can no longer drop right in the centre of Brugge. A short stop will be made for passengers to purchase tobacco products.

Wisley Flower Show
Sunday 12th September
Wisley is Britain’s best loved garden with 240 acres offering a fascinating blend of the beautiful with practical and innovative design and cultivation techniques. It is the beauty and tranquillity of the garden that captures the imagination, with its richly planted borders, luscious rose gardens and the exotica of the glasshouses. Over this weekend the annual Wisley Flower Show will be held with beautiful floral displays and plants grown by top nurseries.

Bridport Market & Sidmouth

A lovely day tour, visiting the market town of Bridport, which always offers a warm welcome. The market, held in the centre of town comprises of over 100 stalls selling clothing, hardware, antiques, crafts and flowers. We then travel on to the Devon town of Sidmouth. This delightful seaside regency town has a unique charm, with its beautiful architecture, gardens, clean beaches and friendly shops.

Scenic Cotswolds Tour

A scenic tour around the beautiful Cotswolds stopping first at “The Capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester. A busy town with a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants or you may prefer a visit to the Corinium Museum or ancient Parish Church. After travelling through pretty villages we will again stop, this time at Bourton-on-the Water, often referred to as the “Venice of the Cotswolds” because its River Windrush runs right through the centre. The combination of this clear sparkling water and attractive low bridges crossing it create a charming scene. Bourton-on-the-Water has more than its share of Cotswold stone houses and cottages, many over 300 years old. A delightful day out.

Jane Austen Country
Tuesday 28th September
Follow in the footsteps of this world famous novelist and discover the locations and fine countryside that inspired her writing. Visit her home and museum at Chawton and explore the picturesque byways of Hampshire that inspired her. We halt for coffee at Winchester then tour through the Hampshire hills to charming New Alresford for a lunch break. During the afternoon we visit Jane Austen’s House.
