Dorset Steam Fair
Sunday 4th September
The Great Dorset Steam Fair is held annually at Tarrant Hinton near Blandford. Widely regarded as the leading event of its type in the country, it has the largest collection of steam engines and associated equipment. There are approx. 200 working steam engines, 100 fairground organs and around 2000 other working exhibits. Experiencing the Old Time Steam Funfair is for many, the highlight of the show or explore the many craft and market stalls.

Scenic Sussex

Buckingham Palace & Highlights Garden Tour

A visit to the official residence of Her Majesty The Queen. While the Queen is away on her annual visit to Scotland, the 19 state rooms of the Palace are open to visitors. For the first time the ‘State Rooms’ visit is being offered with a guided tour of the most remarkable features of the famous garden. The state rooms are used extensively by The Queen and members of the Royal Family to receive and entertain their guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions. They are lavishly furnished with some of the finest treasures from the Royal Collection. During 2011 a special exhibition of 100 of Fabergé’s finest pieces will be on show. After your visit to the state rooms you will visit the garden. Setting for the Queen’s garden parties and described as a ‘walled oasis in the middle of London’, the 45 minute tour includes the beautiful herbaceous border, rose garden, summer house and tennis court. There will also be time to visit the Garden cafe and Palace shop.

Scenic Cotswolds Tour

A scenic tour around the beautiful Cotswolds stopping first at “The Capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester. A busy town with a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants or you may prefer a visit to the Corinium Museum or ancient Parish Church. After travelling through pretty villages we will again stop, this time at Bourton-on-the Water, often referred to as the “Venice of the Cotswolds” because its River Windrush runs right through the centre. The combination of this clear sparkling water and attractive low bridges crossing it create a charming scene. Bourton-on-the-Water has more than its share of Cotswold stone houses and cottages, many over 300 years old. A delightful day out.
