Kew Gardens and Kew Palace
Sunday 17th June
With its Royal heritage, historic buildings and 300 acres of green space, Kew is much more than a garden. For the first time we are including entry to Kew Palace, the smallest and most intimate of the royal palaces. This four-storey brick house was built c. 1631. The gabled main front gives the house a Dutch appearance. Kew Palace was first used by the Royal Family in 1728. The gardens themselves have stunning vistas, an impressive arboretum, and ornate glasshouses, not to mention some of the rarest plants on the planet. Whether you stroll through the formal gardens, wander through the woodland or even climb the treetops! Yes, The Rhizotron & Xstrata Treetop Walkway standing in the Arboretum, is 18-metres high, has a 200-metre walkway and guides visitors around the crowns of lime, sweet chestnut and oak trees. It provides opportunities for inspecting birds, insects, lichen and fungi at close quarters.
